This kit contains the hardware to ease in compressing your TAPP clutch cover for easier spring and roller bolt tuning changes. At the heart of the kit is our exclusive TAPP cover press block. This solid block fits in the center contour of the TAPP cover to keep it flat and aligned with the clutch center shaft. The construction material of the block helps avoid damage to the cover and the alignment feature avoids damage to the cover bushing during removal and installation. The cover is compressed with the tool on installation so damage to the cover, and cover bolt threads in the movable sheave, is avoided as the cover bolts are not used to compress the spring and cover. The press block design allows for full compression of the moveable sheave without removing the cover or spring so allen screws can be added to the inner side of the clutch arms if desired*.
